Matrilineal Bond
A short frame-by-frame motion graphic portraying the story of the special matrilineal bond between my mother and me. When I was young, I didn’t know how to cut my nails, so asking my mother to cut my fingernails became a habit. Even after I grew up and learned to cut my nails, we continued this little tradition because my mother believed it would strengthen our bond. Now, studying alone in New York, whenever I cut my fingernails, I think of my mother. It serves as a reminder to stay connected with my family.
